About

Chloë Callistemon is a professional arts photographer based in Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia. She works both freelance and as a staff photographer for the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, with a focus on visual and performing arts documentation.

Chloë saved up for her first SLR at 12 and began learning in her high school darkroom. She started working as a photographer alongside film work in 2006 while completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television at the Queensland University of Technology, and hasn’t stopped for long since.

Chloë has extensive experience in arts event and performance documentation, installation views, promotional material, portraits, art process documentation and timelapse production. She is most interested in documenting movement and process in a way that communicates the artists’ intent and tells a story.

 

Other work & creative practice:

Chloë is also a circus aerial instructor and occasional performer at Vulcana Circus, writes and performs poetry, and makes and collaborates on multidisciplinary projects using these and other skills.
